Our children's vision for making the world a better place
Think --> Puzzle --> Explore (Week 3)
Think --> Puzzle --> Explore (Week 3)During Week 3 we all completed a Think --> Puzzle --> Explore activity.
The Year 2 children focused on Pollution while the Year 3 children looked at Poverty.
We talked about the information we already know, questions we had and then how we could further explore each topic. Here are some of the things we came up with:
POLLUTION
* Why do lots of people use petrol?
* Why don't more people ride bikes?
* Why do people smoke?
* Why do more people use cars?
* In the future could we build a non-polluting car?
* Why do people want to pollute? (litter)
* Are many people trying to pick up litter?
* Why dont more people use recyling bins?
* How much petrol does a car need?
* What are the diffect types of pollution?
* How does it effect the environment?
POVERTY
* How do people in poverty live?
* How much do they eat each day?
* How do they sleep?
* Can the sea be explored for fresh water?
* Can hospitals help poor people for free?
* Can we give more money? How?
* How can we create a new charity?
* Who can we talk to about poverty?
* How much do they have (e.g. TV etc)?
* Where does food come from when you're poor?
* In Australia, why do we see poverty rarely?
* What countries are most effected by poverty?
* Do they care for animals?
* Do they have company?
