What are your ideas on some of the issues that face the whole world?

Big themes huh? Started to introduce this to some of my students and quickly realized that we could spend alot of time on any aspect of only one of these topics.

Poverty seems to be a bit ahead of pollution at the moment. But even poverty...limited access to food, water, shelter, education, healthcare, etc is a huge topic. Will have to try and break it into bite sized chunks.
